UDK Project 4 (Group 3)

Last week, we put the two statues back in front of the coliseum after the computer crash the week before caused us to lose them. We also created an entrance into the coliseum my moulding the model. This week, we considered more ideas and decided that the map takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting. I suggested having a destroyed landmark such as Big Ben and so we decided that this map takes place in London after an apocalyptic event and the coliseum the players fight in may even be the London Olympic stadium.

We also learned about editing materials and their properties in the UDK editor and ended up creating a wood texture that flashed between different colours. However, when I had completed mine and tried to load it back up, it hadn't saved successfully.

UDK Project 3 (Group 3)

Today, my group and I were able to create the basic shape of the coliseum and we expanded the size of the map to compensate for it. We also added two statues in front of the coliseum and applied a texture to the map floor but an unexpected computer crash occurred and we hadn't saved either of those changes so we will reapply those next time and that shouldn't take too long.

UDK Project 2 (Group 3)

My group and I have began work on the design document for our game. We also decided to change the setting from a jungle to a roman coliseum in the middle of the desert. We initially decided to have more futuristic weapons but we may change that in favour for more primitive weapons such as swords. The game will also feature broken down vehicles (we're still deciding on whether they're just there for scenery or if the player could actually ride and use them) and dangerous animals. We're also including features such as online multiplayer and in-game chat.

UDK Project 1 (Group 3)

My group and I have decided on creating a first-person death match game. I suggested using a jungle setting due to the large number of plants and rocks available in the UDK assets. We all also decided to go with a photo-realistic look as opposed to a more "cartoon" look since that is how most of the assets are designed. We have not yet began work on the map itself and are still discussing potential ideas.
